Love for Our Heritage
Palma Canaria is more than a fashion brand; it is a reflection of Colombian craftsmanship and a clear expression of style. Founded in 2016 by mother and daughter Mónica Arbeláez and Juliana Quintero, the brand emerged while they were searching for a specific type of beach bag and hat made in Colombia—and couldn’t find what they were looking for.
The brand was created with the intention of elevating Colombian craftsmanship, combining traditional techniques with a contemporary approach.
Palma Canaria works with a range of natural fibers and ancestral techniques to develop pieces with a strong point of view. Each design reflects the character of Colombian craftsmanship, appealing to women who value exclusivity and authenticity.
Since its beginnings, the brand has expanded beyond Colombia, reaching more than 15 countries through a network of distributors and participation in international events. It collaborates with artisans across regions including Nariño, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Santander, and Atlántico, contributing to the continuity of these techniques.
What began as a summer accessories brand has evolved into a recognized fashion house, with hand-knotted macramé pieces becoming a defining element of Palma Canaria. With a team of 10 women, the brand develops collections that reflect the diversity of Colombia while highlighting the skill of its artisans.
Palma Canaria combines a contemporary approach to design with a consistent focus on craftsmanship, resulting in pieces that carry both technical and cultural value.
